There’s a question every MedTech company must answer at some point: do you build everything yourself, or do you find the right people to build with?

For us, the answer just became official.

We’re proud to announce that MIM Fertility has entered a formal partnership with Esco Medical – integrating our AI embryo assessment tool, EMBRYOAID, with the MIRI® time-lapse incubator. Effective April 10, 2026, this collaboration marks a genuine step forward in how AI-powered embryology reaches IVF clinics worldwide.

What this partnership means

On paper, it’s a program agreement. In practice, it means that EMBRYOAID – our Class I medical device that automatically classifies embryo quality based on AI analysis of time-lapse imaging – will now be accessible as an integrated solution alongside one of the most widely trusted incubator platforms in the industry.

For embryologists, this integration is designed to support clinical workflow:

  • Designed for seamless access. EMBRYOAID connects with Esco Medical’s API, enabling clinics to access AI-assisted embryo assessment in connection with the MIRI® time-lapse incubator environment they already use.
  • Automated, data-driven embryo ranking. EMBRYOAID provides a numerical quality score for each embryo based on its development potential – giving clinicians a reliable second layer of assessment without replacing their judgment.
  • Consistent, validated assessment across cycles. Whether a clinic is tracking a single patient or monitoring outcomes across hundreds of treatment cycles, the integration supports both individual and clinic-wide data analysis.

The partnership covers clinics across the EU, UK, Brazil, and Australia – territories where EMBRYOAID holds the regulatory clearances required to operate as a clinical support tool.

Why integration, not isolation

IVF technology doesn’t exist in a vacuum. A clinic’s workflow involves dozens of interconnected tools, decisions, and specialists – and every new piece of software introduced into that environment must earn its place by making the work clearer, not more complicated.

That’s why we chose to build this integration rather than operate as a standalone platform competing for attention alongside the equipment clinics already depend on. Esco Medical’s MIRI® time-lapse incubators are used by embryology teams globally. The clinical trust is already there. Our role is to add intelligence to that environment – not friction.

This is also what we mean when we talk about responsible AI in healthcare. EMBRYOAID is explicitly designed as a decision-support tool, not a diagnostic device. The final call always belongs to the embryologist. What we offer is better data, delivered faster, in the right place.

Building in MedTech can feel lonely. You’re navigating technology, regulation, clinical validation and real human impact – all at once. And you quickly realize that you can’t (and shouldn’t) do everything alone. This partnership is a step in a direction I really believe in. Building alongside others who understand the space, instead of trying to reinvent everything from scratch. It’s also one of those moments where you see things slowly coming together. Not in a flashy, overnight-success way. More in a quiet, “ok, this is starting to make sense” kind of way.” – says Ula Sankowska, CEO of MIM Fertility

The road ahead

We’re available in four territories today, with our regulatory coverage expanding as we grow. The integration with MIRI® time-lapse incubator creates a foundation for joint customer engagement, collaborative clinical events, and shared market development – all of which we’ll be building out with Esco Medical over the coming months.

There’s a lot of work ahead. But this partnership represents something we believe deeply: that the IVF ecosystem gets better when the people and companies operating within it choose to build together – rather than in parallel, duplicating effort and diluting impact.
